Well Pointing systems are normally used to reduce the level of groundwater for the construction of underground structural works such as underground basements for buildings. Where there is a high water table which affects the construction works, the water level can be reduced by wellpont drilling and installing a series of boreholes around the perimeter and sucking or drawing out the ground water through  pipes coupled together between each of the wellpoints. A vacuum pump connecting up to approximately 60 well points can then drawdown the water for dischage to a location well away from the present groundwater wellpoint drawdown area. Wellpointing can produce better results in fine granular soils ...
